While AI technologies are rapidly expanding, key concerns about its societal impacts are often overlooked for the sake of progress towards an AI future. The AI ecosystem is dominated by a handful of large tech companies, whose incentives misalign with the public interest. Furthermore, AI is often falsely framed as a solution to the world’s biggest challenges, including climate change.
We wrapped our second annual Digital Policy Leadership Summit, which took place 6-7 March in Brussels, Belgium. We’re still feeling inspired and energised from the conversations and connections that were forged at this two day event at La Tricoterie.
At the end of 2023, we hosted our very first Digital Policy Leadership Forum. The virtual half-day event took place on 5 December, and gathered more than 60 participants from across Europe, and beyond, centered around the themes of Policy Leadership Opportunities, Needs, and Visions for 2024.
After the conclusion of our first two Cohorts with emerging policy leaders, we are excited to welcome our first group of digital policy practitioners. Practitioner leaders are those who are already in a digital policy related role, and are looking to connect with and learn from peers, to refine and sharpen policy skills, and support each other in the growing policy leadership community.
