Job Opening: Community Tech Support Specialist
Aspiration and Community Technology Network are hiring four (4) Americorp VISTA Community Tech Support Specialists to provide strategic technical assistance to Bay Area nonprofit organizations whose missions help to reduce poverty. The positions are made possible through the HandsOn Tech Corps.
The Position

We are looking for candidates with strong internet skills and a passion for teaching; we are glad to train in the necessary nonprofit skills and processes.
The Community Tech Support Specialists will each manage day-to-day relationship with 8-12 nonprofit organizations working in various areas of social change that focus on low-income communities, with duties that include:
- Learning Aspiration's support methodology, training materials library and associated training techniques, via mentoring from current Aspiration staff and co-training engagements;
- Serving as trainer and support person for 8-12 organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area;
- Enhancing and templatizing existing training materials to increase downloadable, self-serve offerings;
- Helping to market and raise awareness about the offerings and raise program visibility;
- Managing an open mailing list for discussion of nptech support questions.
The ideal candidate will have a record of successfully managing projects; experience in organizational communications, warm interpersonal skills, an ability to build working relationships with people from different fields and cultures, flexibility to apply different communication methods and organizational strategies as needed; willingness to travel, and an eye for detail and deadlines.
Specifically, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong and demonstrated online communications skills, including web publishing, social media, and email messaging, with a willingness and passion to learn more.
- Project management experience, including the ability to self-manage and adapt to the evolving mandates of a small and dynamic organization.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills for executing media and communications strategies both online and offline
- Proven experience working in a distributed team and with strategic partners
- Passion for technology as it relates to social change work and the nonprofit sector
- Experience or interest in providing one-on-one or small group computer training
- Experience with event planning and management a plus
