Building Online Communications in Grassroots Nonprofits

We're returning to Fresno, CA on June 23 from 12:30 to 4:30 pm with a no-cost training on building effective online communications for nonprofits and social justice organizations. Based on feedback from Central Valley participants, this training will include two interactive sessions to help you build out your online strategy efforts.

Establishing a Publishing Matrix: In this hands on exercise, participants will create their own draft publishing matrix to coordinate their online channels and online content that they can apply in their communications efforts immediately following the training.

Social Media Dashboarding: Do you know where you are being mentioned online? As the number of online channels grows, tools are needed for tracking how and where an organization is being mentioned online. This session will explain how to create such a dashboard and describe best practices for getting the most value out of one. Participants will be able to create stored searches for keywords (e.g. organization name, director's name)that will automatically update when new search results are found, informing of social media impact into the future.

Laptops are not required, but you may bring one for the Social Media Dashboard session. We can provide laptops at the training too. The Central Valley eAdvocacy Program is generously funded by the California Consumer Protection Foundation. Big thanks to the Center for Multicultural Cooperation in Fresno for their great support and The California Endownment for providing the event space. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you all there!

"Thank you for bringing together these incredible people, modelling a welcoming stance, and empowering us to develop real relationships!"
