We were inspired and grateful to partner with Superrr Lab to co-create the first-ever Digital Futures Gathering.
More than 50 independent researchers, activists and civil society practitioners came together in Berlin as part of a concerted effort to shift our collective thinking from reactive to proactive. Over the two-day event, participants imagined what just and sustainable digital futures can look like and developed collaborative strategies to work towards those visions. As Gloria Steinem has put it, ‘Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning".
The Gathering was envisioned and designed as a starting point and a springboard for future and ongoing collaborations. The resulting website, co-created with participants and based on outcomes and ideas generated in sessions at the event, is deployed to serve as a reference point and a manifestation of that intent, in the hope that what is captured there can serve as both a touchstone and catalyst as we collectively strive to manifest our visions for just, equitable and powerful Digital Futures.
The amazing visuals were created by Irem Kurt & Ana Filipa Maceira of Ousa Collective.
