Holed Up in a Castle on the Indian Ocean
Well, where to begin. Ushahidi, the wonderful open source mobile platform, held their 2012 Pirates and Ninjas Summit in Lamu, Kenya in a castle by the sea. We sure were grateful to be there to facilitate.
The team met earlier than usual this year to get a head start on planning out timelines for 2012 and beyond, including the core platform, Crowdmap, and SwiftRiver.
Serious work was balanced by serious play, including full-contact Marco Polo. We enjoyed the fine cuisine of Ali Samosa in Lamu town, and spent the last night perfecting our dance moves for the event theme song. And we all laptop-squatted before and after the event at the amazing iHub.
We are already looking forward to next year :^)
