Coordinating Your Online Communications Channels with a Publishing Matrix
28 September, 2011
2pm-4pm
Many nonprofits find it confusing to manage and effectively coordinate organizational messages and campaigns across the mind-numbing plethora of social media outlets, blogs and communications channels. This training gives nonprofits a framework in which to look at different communications channels as effective for organizational goals. Participants will learn how online communications tools differ and relate to one another in terms of characteristics like tone, frequency and level of control. In this hands-on workshop, participants put together actual tools that they can use as an organization to inform and structure processes surrounding how, when and why to use their choice of communications channels.
Building a Social Media Dashboard
12 October, 2011
2pm-4pm
Join us for a no-cost training on building effective online communications for nonprofits and social justice organizations. This training will be an interactive session to help you build out your online strategy efforts.
Do you know where you are being mentioned online? As the number of valuable eAdvocacy channels grows, tools are needed for tracking how and where a campaign or organization is being mentioned on web sites, blogs, Twitter, Facebook and elsewhere. This session will explain how to create such a tool, enumerate what free and low-cost tools are available, and describe best practices for getting the most value out of such tactical resources.
How to Create a Message Calendar
26 October, 2011
2pm-4pm
Is all of your online campaign and organizational messaging scheduled and tracked on a unified calendar that is visible to all stakeholders? This session will explain the process of creating and maintaining a messaging calendar. In addition, design of “narrative arc” will be described and correlated to calendaring strategies. Participants will be invited to construct their own draft calendars for the campaign or other online communications for which they are currently responsible.
Join us for this training designed for non-profit organizations who are concerned with their online campaigning strategy and communications. While there will be some technical content, the primary focus will be on strategic use of processes and best practices for online campaigning, so don’t be scared if you have little tech background.
