What's Ahead and What's Behind

On May 3, we visited the Nonprofit Innovation Center and the Center for Multicultural Cooperation in Sacramento as part of our Listening Tour to see what nonprofit's in the area are struggling with online.

Facebook Page vs. Group for Nonprofits

Hi All,

During our previous meet ups in Fresno, Modesto, and Visalia, several people had questions about how to best set up and use Facebook for their organization.

Currently, many orgs have individual Facebook profiles set up instead of using Facebook groups or pages.

To help you figure out what's right for you, here is a blog that explains why you shouldn't have an individual Facebook profile for your org and sorts the differences of a Facebook group vs. page.

Modesto, Fresno, and Visalia Shout Outs!

FresnoI am excited to say we had an adventurous week in Modesto, Fresno, and Visalia on a 3 day road trip. We had great food, talked to awesome people, and even finished our first Central Valley eAdvocacy Training in Fresno! There were 13 different organizations from Fresno and Visalia represented at the training. We had great local support from CMC and <a href=http://www.bgclubfc.org">BGClubFC.

It's not about the grapes or lettuce.

The fight is never about grapes or lettuce. It is always about people. Cesar Chavez

In honor of Cesar Chavez Day, I wanted to reflect on using technology for social change, especially since our 1st Central Valley training is coming up on April 6 in Fresno, "Starting your Nonprofit on Social Media."

Driving Down the 99S California

Yesterday, we continued the Central Valley eAdvocacy program with an awesome road trip down the 99 South to Fresno in the Aspiration roadie van.

Hi, I'm Misty Avila. Welcome to the Central Valley blog! I'm starting this blog to tell the tale of expanding Aspiration's eAdvocacy capacity building program to the Central Valley. We can share ideas, reveal nonprofit tech goodies, ask questions, or just chat about the Tule Fog that blankets the Valley.

Once upon a time,
