“AI” has rapidly moved to the top of political and economic agendas across the globe. Governments are positioning AI as a cornerstone of national competitiveness, shaping industrial policy, public investment strategies, and regulatory frameworks.
In this context, how can we centre openness, equity and justice in AI-related policy strategy?
Thank you everyone who made the CA Tech Fest in L.A. extraordinary! We felt honored to host such a diverse and passionate gathering. On April 3rd and 4th, over 75 people with unique voices and goals came together in downtown L.A. to learn, share, and connect.
If there was ever a space conducive to storytelling, it would be the circle that forms around a campfire. It orients us towards a shared vision, encouraging a solidarity that's hard to see when we sit in rows, facing podiums, Power Points, and stages. So when I saw the circle of chairs awaiting us at the CA Tech Fest venue, I couldn't help but smile.
What a great way to return to training in the Central Valley! Eight smiling faces joined us to talk about online presence for their grassroots campaigns last week.

The #CATechFest session list will be co-developed with participants, facilitators, and partners in the time leading up and during the Festival.
The agenda will be designed and facilitated using Aspiration's unique participatory model, in an environment where powerpoint slides are discouraged and dialog and collaboration drive the learning.
